Japanese History of Haiku - Japanese symbols of Zen Tenryuji and Masuo Basho

Japanese Zen Temple - TenryuJiTenRyuji - Japanese Zen Temple
===============================
Today, I have visted one of the Zen temple in the area of Fukuiken.
The name of the temple is called "Tenryuji".
There is another Tenryuji temple in Kyoto, which has been ranked first among the city's "Five Great Zen Temples", but the temple I have visted is different.

Not many people visit this place, but a few historical famous people visted this Tenryuji temple.

Japanese History of HaikuHistory of Haiku - Basho Matsuo
===============================

Do you know the Basho Matsuo?
He is known as the first great poet in the history of haikai (and haiku).

He wrote poems using jokes and plays upon words in his early stages, as they were in fashion, but began to attach importance to the role of thought in haikai (especially in hokku) from around 1680.

So, that is why he is quite famous in Japan.
The Tenryuji is the place where he visited.

[Today' Japanese Symbols]

1. Tenryuji (The first symbol mean Heaven, and the second one is Dragon and the third one is Temple. So, it is the Zen temple which Dragon take you to heaven)
