Have you ever seen "Butsu Dan" - Japanese Buddhist Altar?

Topic:

1. English words used in Japanese
2. Today's Japanese Phrase

1. English words used in Japanese
==================================
Not many people know that many English words have been used in Japanese
for a long time, and more and more new English words are incorporated
into the Japanese Writing System, as the time goes by.
Only the difference is how we pronounce in Japanese.

For example,

Coffee -

We also use the word, Coffee, in Japanese, but pronounce it
" Kohh-heee" instead of "Coffee".
To write, we usually use the Katakana script, which is used
to represent foreign words that have been adopted into the
Japanese Language.

But, we sometimes use the Kanji Script to write Coffee, as well.
In this case, the way of writting in kanji is Phonetic Translation
which is called "Ate Ji" in Japanese.
Because it is not original Japanese word, we place a kanji word
that sounds similar to "Kohh" and "Heee".
It is like writting your name in Japanese Kanji.

2. Today's Japanese Phrase
================================
Have you ever heard of "YoJi JyuKuGo"?
It is the modern Japanese Four-character Idioms.

YoJi means "Four-Character"
Jyukugo means "Idioms"

And, today's Japanese Phrase I have thought of is "Artificial Intelligence".

It is called "Jin Kou Chi Nou" in Japanese.

Now, for those who are interested in Japanese Yoji Jyukugo or want to know more,
you can take a look at this site: http://www.dsfy.com/Japanese_symbol.htm
